OBERA LLC is named a finalist in the 2021 Moxie Awards
Obera is pleased to have been named a finalist in the 2021 Moxie Award, said Keith Dotts, Vice President with Obera. “I want to congratulate our team for enabling us to be recognized among the boldest and most innovative organizations in the D.C. metro community,” Mr. Dotts said.
Finalists were recently announced by Katie Jordan, the 2021 Moxie Award chair. “This year’s finalists truly represent the spirit of Moxie and we are excited to help tell the stories of how they have navigated the past year,” Jordan said. “We look forward to revealing the winners at the 2021 Moxie Award celebration on Oct. 13, 2021, at The Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner.”

OBERA LLC EARNS 2021 MILITARY FRIENDLY EMPLOYER DESIGNATION
Obera LLC announced today that it has earned the 2021 Military Friendly Employer. Institutions earning the Military Friendly ® Employer designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Hundreds of companies participated in the Military Friendly ® Employers portion of the 2021 Military Friendly ® Companies survey.
Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly ® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score with an assessment of the organization’s ability to meet thresholds for Applicant, New Hire Retention, Employee Turnover, and Promotion & Advancement of veterans and military employees.

OBERA LLC NOMINATED AS FINALIST FOR SECAF 2020 GOVERNMENT CONTRACTOR AWARD
Obera LLC has been recognized by the Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum’s (SECAF) Annual Government Contractor Awards, receiving the nomination of the SECAF Government Contractor of the Year ($15 to $27.5 million in revenue) Award. The nomination was announced to Obera in August 2020.
Obera LLC was recognized by SECAF as an emerging small government contractor business through its achievement in growth in a highly competitive marketplace. Obera’s continued contributions in promoting high standards of conduct across the government contracting sector, specifically, for our work providing base support, capacity building, sustainment, security operations, provision of supplies, information technology training, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and other government contracting requirements have enabled Obera’s growth in the industry.

OBERA ATTENDS 2ndANNUAL ISOA AFRICA STABILITY & DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE
Obera LLC participated in the 2nd Annual ISOA Africa Stability & Development Conference. The 2nd Annual Africa Stability and Development Conference, hosted and led by the Middle East & Africa (MEA) Chapter of ISOA was held in Nairobi, Kenya on 8-10 September 2019. The conference consisted of 2 full days of activities including the keynote speaker, MG Roger Cloutier (US Army Commanding General, US Army Africa – SETAF), along with several experts who addressed the latest developments in regional stability operations, the industry’s role in reconstruction, and the importance of operational resilience, with special panels on conducting business fort all industries in Africa.
Keith Dotts, Director of Africa Operations, who attended and participated in this year’s event, supported the Training & Peacekeeping: Promoting National Security and Global Stability as a speaker and panelist for this conference. Mr. Dotts said “Our Obera LLC team has been an active member of ISOA since 2017. We see the ISOA Association as a key valued asset that improves our organizations capabilities for stability operations. Being asked to support this year’s Africa conference was a true honor. Being able to speak to all guests on the importance of peacekeeping and national security capabilities is critical to all organizations for business development. We look forward to the next ISOA event.”

OBERA LLC ATTENDS 19THANNUAL AFRICAN ENDEAVOR
Obera LLC participated in the 19thAnnual Africa Endeavor Communications Symposium.
Africa Endeavor (AE) is the annual U.S. Africa Command hosted Defense Communications Symposium. The purpose of AE is to engage with African Partners & Leaders to help facilitate the development of their Defense Information Technology network at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels and promoting interoperability. Additionally, AE addresses information security and defensive cyber operations in order to build the African partner’s capability in these areas.
AE19 was conducted in Accra, Ghana. Fifty African nations participated in the symposium, along with the African Union, regional economic communities, the United Nations, Western Partners, and interagency subject matter experts. Programming focus in 2019 was focused on training & workforce development and includes areas of cybersecurity, interoperability, Women Peace & Security, and Enlisted development. AE provides the African, U.S., and WPN military communicators the opportunity to discuss capabilities, address interoperability gaps, and approach solutions as a fully integrated component of a multi-national force improving the training opportunity for an international audience. The symposium has grown in size, scope and capacity given the significance of public /private /partnership integration.

We are honored to provide specialized and innovative services designed to enhance Information Management & Communications Capabilities for the nations in which we operate.” Mr. Dotts went on to describe how Obera LLC designs, integrates, and supports operations of complex systems that support specific communications and information technology services. “Each mission has unique Communication & IT challenges, and our team of highly skilled & experienced staff truly understand the complex nature of support for all IT Management requirements for all global operations.”
AE19 built on ongoing military-to-military engagements and focused on Command priorities to build partner strengths and capabilities. The theme for AE19 was Signal Training! Install, Operate, Maintain, and Protect. With support of interagency partners, programming is being developed and subject matter experts are being identified/invited. AE has exposed more than 1,850 communications specialists and military planners in C4, tactics, techniques, and procedures. AE18 hosted participants from 42 African Nations, regional economic communities, Western Partner Nations (WPN), International Organizations, and each USAFRICOM Component, and the Prime Minister of the host nation. This year Ghana is the events host nation. AE supports U.S. Africa Command’s decisive objectives by:
- Increasing the capability of African nations to contribute to regional and international military activities aimed at preserving peace and combating transnational threats to security.
- Supporting development of African partner national cyber strategy.
- Improving military-to-military relationships among African nations and developing U.S. and key allies as preferred regional security partners.
Objectives of AE include enhancing partner capability to install, operate, maintain, and protect mission command systems as well as build partner networks, encouraging the sharing of interoperable procedures, and documenting standards and SOPs. The first AE was held in 2006 in South Africa, as a communications exercise that included senior communicator discussion. In 2014, the USAFRICOM Commander approved separating the two efforts, with communications exercises taking place at the Component level and maintain the senior leader discussion at the headquarters, in the form of a senior leader symposium. This symposium has taken place in Botswana (2015), Madagascar (2016), Malawi (2017), and Cabo Verde (2018). Recognizing the need to find solutions to interoperability issues, a technology exposition was added to the event, bringing vendors from across the spectrum of communications and supporting equipment.

Obera LLC has been recognized by the International Stability Operations Association (ISOA), receiving a Corporate Achievement Award in the Tier 4 company category, by organization size.
The award was announced at the ISOA 2019 Achievement Award Ceremony on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Obera LLC was recognized for contributions in promoting high standards of conduct across the commercial stability operations support sector; specifically, for our work providing base support, capacity building, sustainment and security operations, provision of supplies, information technology training, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and other peacekeeping efforts in post-conflict environments.
Ryan Shaver, Executive Vice President, who accepted the award, said “We are honored to provide specialized and innovative services designed to enhance the capabilities and infrastructure and human capital of the nations in which we operate.” Mr. Shaver went on the describe how Obera has demonstrated transparency, ethical conduct, and respect for human rights through the delivery of various Government Services programs and initiatives, acknowledging our appreciation for being recognized as a prestigious ISOA Corporate Achievement Award recipient for excellence in international stability operations.
