U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized Obera LLC as one of the 849 recipients of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor. Obera LLC earned the gold award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

Obera LLC joins 848 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service. Recipients of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,400 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018.

Obera LLC participated in the 15th Annual ISOA Summit. The 15th Annual ISOA Summit was held in Arlington, VA on 26-28 October 2021. This year’s summit theme was “ Great Power Competition regarding the Future of Contingency Contracting.”

 

The conference consisted of 2 full days of activities including the keynote speakers, VADM James Malloy (Deputy CENTCOM Commander), and Jim Sciutto (Chief National Security Correspondent, CNN Co-anchor of CNN Newsroom and author of “The Shadow War”), along with several experts who addressed the latest developments in Cybersecurity; Procurement Reform; Women, Peace, and Security; Pandemics and International Health Security; recent exit from Afghanistan, and much more. We also enjoyed keynote presentations from Ambassadors, Assistant Secretaries of State, and Rep. Michael Waltz from the House Armed Services Committee.

Obera supported this year’s summit as an exhibitor.  Our team consisted of Bill Smeltzer (Director of PMO), Johnnie Richardson (Finance & Logistics Support), and Keith Dotts, Vice President.

Obera LLC will subcontract to Relyant Global which is one of 7 prime companies awarded to compete for each order of a $49,000,0000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction requirements throughout Central America on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District.  This exciting opportunity marks the first construction contract awarded to Relyant Global through the USACE Mobile District. Our Obera team is excited and look forward to providing quality support & services to Relyant.

 

Obera will provide in country base operations support, life support, administrative support, customs requirements, local construction support, and as-needed procurement as required under this IDIQ. This contract objective is to perform design, construction, demolition, upgrades, repairs to facilities and structures such as administrative buildings, barracks, warehouses, hangars, schools, motor pools, etc. We are proud to continue our partnership with Relyant Global on this and other USG programs.

Obera LLC completed its FY21 contract season with great success. As a SB Prime on the CN&GT IDIQ, our team executed quality capture efforts with excellent results. Obera was awarded 5 of the 7 FOPRs this season and will support ACC AMIC in the NORTHCOM, AFRICOM, and INDOPACOM regions. We continued our support to SOUTHCOM with closing out our efforts for the C4ISR program, and then moving over to support the MARLINs IDIQ with one of our strategic partners under OASIS.

 

Part of the growth for Obera this year was our synergy in strategic partnerships and relationship building. As a small business, we have aligned with large firms to grow to capitalize on our core capabilities.
